Tony has a varied work history including working for BT and the prison service. He and his wife Barbara have spent a lifetime supporting young people through youth service, their church and Girl Guides.
They have also been counsellors in their community. Tony is a full-time carer for Barbara who has symptoms of Dementia for nearly 20 years.
He is also creator and Chair of BDAA and is incredibly busy running Dementia awareness sessions, collaborating with other organisations, running the charity and Happy Days memory cafe and being an active member of Westbury Baptists Church. His ‘spare’ time is spent with his family and his favourite cake is coffee and walnut cake!
She is an experienced service lead, with experience in quality improvement, change management and service development.
She is currently a Hub Manager in the Bristol Dementia Wellbeing Service, incorporating oversight of Care Home Liaison. She has been a BDAA Trustee since 2017 Her favourite cake is chocolate éclair
John is the Owner at Home Instead Senior Care, North Bristol, UK which provides unrushed, relationship centred care at home, a service which was recently rated Outstanding by the CQC.
John joined BDAA as a Trustee in 2016, he also serves as a Non-Executive Director at University Hospitals Bristol Foundation Trust. John is married with three children, and enjoys hill walking and carrot cake.
Chris Hunt joined us as a Trustee in June 2018 and he is now the current Deputy Chair. He works for Hart Greaves as a Financial Advisor. Chris has a wealth of financial, volunteering and Rotary experience.
He was thrown in at the deep end for our 5th Birthday celebrations in July and spent the day handing out our information packs and talking to the public. Chris has already fitted in brilliantly with our Trustees and we look forward to a long future together. His favourite cake is carrot cake
Anna is a qualified Solicitor who has been STEP qualified since 2006. She is a very active Dementia Friends Champion and volunteers for the Alzheimer’s Society and BRACE to help raise funds for these charities.
She has been a BDAA Trustee since 2017.She is a Full Accredited Member of Solicitors for the Elderly and hold their Older Client Care in Practice Award. Anna is a lay member of the South West Dementia Brain Bank Research Governance Committee. Her favourite cake is lemon drizzle.
Julie joined us as a BDAA Trustee at the end of 2018 and has been an active supporter of the charity for years. She is the coordinator of Dementia Health Integration Team at the University of Bristol. She is also a freelance science journalist, writer and editor. Her favourite cake is lemon drizzle.
Fiona joined BDAA as a Trustee in 2018 although she has been involved with the charity for years.Fiona is a Director at Wiltshire Farm Foods Bristol. Her favourite cake is lemon drizzle.
Subitha has two daughters and loves running half marathons. She’s a fan of Sri Lankan kiri buth with fiery pol sambal.
Sam joined BDAA in February 2018 as our part-time administrator (funded by a Charitable Trust). She has over 15 years charity experience as an administrator, fundraiser and database manager.
She is also a certified life coach and complementary therapist. She has had close family/friends with Dementia. Her favourite cake is carrot cake.
Rebecca is an award winning, experienced project manager & business developer. She is a Director of Soap Creative & thelandsman. She is an adviser to the Royal Bath & West Society’s Communications Committee.
